PROjEN announce record breaking growth

PROjEN, the award winning Project Management Company based at Northwich, Cheshire, has just announced its biggest 18 month growth in personnel since the company was formed in 1978.

Since April 2005, the number of employees at PROjEN has risen by nearly 65% as the company responds to an unprecedented growth in new client wins and increased orders from existing customers. In April 2005, PROjEN employed a total of 52 full time staff; and a year later this had risen to 71. Following further successes and recent recruitment the numbers have grown to 85 at the end of 2006

The company’s growth has been further fuelled by the recent launch of a range of energy management services tailored to large industrial clients. This has generated a huge amount of interest from existing industrial and manufacturing clients as well as a number of enquiries from new businesses not currently working with PROjEN.

PROjEN’s growth is set to continue and the order books are filling up for 2007 and beyond. To ensure the calibre and number of new recruits can be maintained into the New Year, PROjEN will be launching a bespoke recruitment database product on the company’s existing website which will enable people across all disciplines to apply for current vacancies and register details for future positions. The database will have a number of search functions enabling the company to match positions to individuals with specific skills and attributes instantaneously ensuring future employees can be notified of appropriate vacancies the moment they come available. People interested in registering on the PROjEN database are invited to send their current CV to PROjEN or register their details via the current recruitment section of the website.

This announcement in personnel growth comes “hot on the heels” of the launch of PROjEN’s graduate recruitment programme and the first two graduate trainees, Liang Liu and Adam Ingram

John Taylor, Managing Director at PROjEN said,
“We have experienced significant growth over the last 3 years which is a result of our performance, product offering and the work ethic of our people. Although not as big as some in the industry, we are well known and this has helped in our successful recruitment to date. As the pace of our growth gathers speed in the New Year we are having to widen our “net” if we are to recruit the best people. We are looking forward to the website upgrade which will help us to build a fantastic resource for future recruitment”

After starting with a list of over 20 potential new computer systems PROjEN narrowed down the requirement to Dynamics AX after a rigorous internal scoping exercise to identify features required to deal with the companies accelerating growth.

Phil adds power to PROjEN | PM PROjEN News

PROjEN, the award winning Project Management Company based at Northwich, Cheshire, has appointed industry expert Phil McVan as Energy Consultant responsible for developing the Company’s new energy management services.

Our key strength was implementing identified industrial projects to enable savings to be made. What we lacked in our service was the ability to identify what projects should be tackled and in what priority. Phil is a great addition to the management team and the appointment of such a well respected industry expert is ideal for PROjEN and our clients. We can now offer a much wider service which brings together how best to monitor and reduce energy usage, when and how to buy, how to comply with legislation, what governmental subsidies and tax incentives and then most importantly provide the skills, resources and project leadership to deliver the projects identified along the way. What we offer now is a full energy consultancy service but supported by tried and proven implementation experience.. I am sure both existing as well as new clients will benefit greatly from Phil’s extensive industry knowledge”

PROjEN Launch Graduate recruitment programme

PROjEN, the specialist award winning Project Management Company based at Northwich in Cheshire, has recently entered the graduate recruitment market following four years of continued expansion and the execution of extensive professional recruitment campaigns.

Having seen the workforce increase by over 20 employees in the last 12 months, PROjEN has entered the graduate recruitment market in an attempt to fill medium and long term skills gaps that could arise following a sustained period of growth by the company.

The first advertised graduate recruitment post is for a graduate project engineer working for PROjEN at a leading international pharmaceutical company based in the South East of England. Another health and safety success from PROjEN

PROjEN, the award winning <a href=”/about.php” title=”project management company”>Project Management Company</a> based at Northwich, Cheshire, has completed over 2,000 safe working hours during a 3 month shutdown at British Gypsum in Runcorn whilst raising £600 for charity in the process. This represents an excellent achievement considering the 24 hour, 7 day working pattern and with much of the new equipment being sourced from overseas there was a variety of different nationalities working together in close proximity.
<br />
<br />In total approximately 2,160 safe man-hours were worked on the project. Over the duration of the project, over 10 weekly audits and 90 Construction Meetings were held to track and manage the progress of the project.
<br />
<br />The profile of heath and safety on site had been significantly raised by the design and delivery of a ‘Safety Incentive Scheme’ which was fully supported by British Gypsum. All procedures were monitored by monthly site meetings to ensure all systems were being effectively implemented.
<br />
<br />The focus of the scheme was to ensure that all personnel involved in the Construction and commissioning activities did so to minimise accidents and incidents on site. The Scheme ran initially for a period of 3 months with an award being handed out to those individuals judged to be making a significant success of the scheme (on a week by week basis). In addition, £600 was raised for the charity ‘Halton Haven Trust’, based in Runcorn, Cheshire.
<br />
<br />John Taylor, Managing Director at PROjEN said,
<br />“Heath and safety is firmly at the top of our agenda and whenever appropriate we implement safety schemes on site to ensure it remains at the forefront of everyone’s thoughts and actions during the working day. I am very pleased with our safety record as a whole but I am particularly pleased that British Gypsum chose to support this scheme and with the safety performance achieved. Being able to support a local charity whilst ensuring all site staff were safe is a double benefit.

PROjEN launch energy management service

PROjEN, the award winning Project Management Company based at Northwich, Cheshire, has officially launched a range of energy management services to industrial clients in response to customer demand.

PROjEN’s Energy Management Services are designed to safeguard precious resources and help companies to retain their hard earned profits. The majority of organisations don’t have the personnel, experience, knowledge or time to invest in solving energy problems. As a result businesses across the UK are wasting millions of pounds each year through inaccurate billing, energy wastage or simply through lack of knowledge regarding current legislation or industry best practice as it relates to energy issues.

PROjEN initially launched the energy management services to existing clients in the pharmaceutical, food and industrial manufacturing sectors, but after a successful test period, these services are now being launched to new clients in these industrial fields and also to large multi centre organisations such as retailers, banks and the leisure industry.

Over the last twelve months, PROjEN has been working hard to develop a suite of complementary services that together form a word class solution to energy management issues. After careful development, the products which have been added to the Company’s existing Energy Project Implementation service include:-part time or interim energy management, carbon trust surveys and funding, purchasing in risk markets, bill validation & recovery services, SMART metering, monitoring & targeting, energy management training, environmental legislation support services (IPPC and climate change levy), feasibility studies, project management of energy reduction programmes, process engineering support, engineering design services, carbon trading advice.

PROjEN’s approach to energy management is refreshingly new. Many energy management consultants obtain commissions from suppliers which can give rise to conflict with the best interest of the client. PROjEN are not interested in short term financial gains, but look towards building long term business relationships with companies across a number of business improvement disciplines. This new approach has been possible due to the long term relationships that PROjEN has developed with clients in other engineering management disciplines.

The new energy management services division is to be managed by Phil McVan who has over 25 year’s specialist experience of working with some of the largest companies in the United Kingdom providing utility cost, telecommunications and energy saving solutions. Phil joined PROjEN in June and has already been responsible for delivering a number of energy saving programmes to PROjEN’s existing manufacturing, pharmaceutical and food manufacturing client base.

John Taylor, Managing Director at PROjEN said,
“We didn’t take the decision to go into this marketplace lightly. It might seem at first hand a little removed from our core business of managed engineering services, but in fact, it appears that we have hit upon a key need. Our ability to implement projects is second to none and this skill is key to delivering the real benefits identified from energy surveys etc..” John continues “It is only when the energy efficiency projects are implemented can the benefits be seen by our clients. Until that time they can be nothing more than ‘paper talk’ and we have found many are tired of solutions which start with “turning the lights off”. What people want to see are real savings.
