What are Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR)?

There are many versions of the phrase ‘Things change but stay the same’ and in a lot of cases this is true. Working in the area of environmental protection this is particularly true. One thing is for sure, we must do all we can to stop pollution from entering the environment. However government protection agencies regularly, and quite rightly, reduce pollution targets and continue to drive companies to improve their systems and processes.

Saving Energy using Freepower technology

I briefly mentioned the Freepower unit on my last posting. This is an amazing piece of technology, that I personally find fascinating and believe that it has great potential for saving energy in a broad range of applications by converting waste heat into useable energy.

And so it started…

The conversation went a bit like this We would like you to do a blog… err ok…. Two questions, isn’t a blog a ‘youth’ thing?, and … well never mind the second question, I’ll ask my kids later….. I was told that a blog is not just a ‘youth’ thing, it is a valuable medium for giving a more dynamic and personal outlook on day to day issues that may be of interest to others…. And the answer to the second question?, having owned up to my kids that I am going to do a blog, and waited several minutes for the laughing and sarcastic comments to subside, I eventually found out that blog is derived from web log and according to my kids, at the age of 43 I am at least 10 years too old for ‘blogging’. I tried to explain that 40 is the new 30, but that fell on deaf ears !
