The project involved the replacement of 230 bursting discs in the Stevenage Chemistry Pilot Plant following a project risk assessment on the current protection devices.
Key measures of success for the project included it being completed both on time and to budget with ZERO accidents and quality defects whilst ensuring no impact was made on operations. PROjEN’s Health and Safety Manager Lyndon Workman was delighted with the final Safety Health and Environment (SHE) statistics:
“The Project consisted of 9,200 construction man hours with ZERO lost time accidents, injuries and environmental impact. These statistics demonstrate PROjEN’s commitment to raising Health and Safety Awareness on the projects we manage”.

PROjEN have always supported both local and national charities and at the end of major client projects a donation is made to a worthwhile charity. On this particular project PROjEN are proud to announce £150 has been donated to Halton Haven Hospice. The money will go towards helping to support people at different stages of their illness across Runcorn, Widnes and the Surrounding area.
PM PROjEN, the specialist engineering Project Management Company, based in Preston Brook, Cheshire is proud to announce it has raised £900 for charity through a raffle during PROjEN’s Christmas party held on Friday 4th December 2009.
The Christmas party was attended by almost 100 personnel and guests and consisted of pre dinner drinks, a three course meal and a live band to finish. In addition PROjEN’s Managing Director Martin Seabrook presented a number of special prizes to staff for their hard work over the past year.
The money raised at the event will be donated towards two worthwhile charities- Halton Haven Hospice based in Runcorn and St Ann’s Hospice in Heald Green. PROjEN are always looking at ways to help raise funds for worthwhile causes and are delighted with the level of participation and enthusiasm that PROjEN’s employees demonstrate when doing so. Specialist Engineering Project Management Company PROjEN have begun a major pharmaceutical project incorporating the project management, design and build of an Acetone and Industrial Methylated Spirits (IMS) Tank Farm. The tank farm is being designed to deliver bulk products to an existing process at a Midlands based manufacturing company.
The objectives of the project are to create a safe bunded storage area with tanker access, offloading facilities and associated plant and equipment capable of delivering Acetone and IMS on demand and effluent storage.
The key phpects of the project are as follows:
- Process, Civil, Mechanical and EC&I Design
- Construction Management, Health, Safety and CDM Support
- DSEAR / ATEX compliance
- Procurement of four bulk storage tanks
- New bunded area and road tanker offloading area
- Process equipment
- Pipebridge to carry process and service pipework and electrical supplies
- Access platform to new tanks and bunded area
Being experienced in the use of 3D Visualisation has given PROjEN the opportunity to use this technique to supply their client with image solutions that match their needs. Lyndon Workman, PROjEN’s Project Manager and Health and Safety Advisor comments;

Specialist Engineering Project Management Company PROjEN recently supported the European Week of Safety campaign which ran from 19th to 23rd October. The campaign was focused on raising awareness of both legal responsibilities and the practical need to assess risks in the workplace.
PROjEN was fully committed to the campaign and targeted both office and site based personnel and contractors. Information packs were sent out by PROjEN which included information about the campaign, a risk assessment booklet, quiz, HSE example assessments and “Five Steps to Risk Assessment” posters.

PROjEN, the specialist engineering Project Management Company, based in Northwich Cheshire is proud to announce raising £133.16 after supporting Jeans for Genes day on Friday 2nd October.
Each member of staff in the office that day took part by donating £2 to wear their jeans to work. The money raised will go towards funding the care and support for children and families affected by genetic disorders, as well as research into the causes and cures of these conditions.
The aim of Jeans for Genes is to change the world for children living with genetic disorders. Research shows that genetic disorders affect 1 in 33 children born in the UK – the equivalent to one in every class of school children. Many of these disorders have no treatment available and more than half of all childhood deaths in the UK are linked to a genetic condition.

PROjEN has raised a total of £545 for the charity KidsCan following a successful health and safety initiative at one of the company’s major industrial projects. The “KidsCan” Children’s Cancer Research Centre is working hard to promote and support research into the causes, prevention, treatment and cure of cancers in children. No other charity researches into specifically children’s cancers which makes their work both unique and vital.
Kidscan was chosen as the charity to receive the donation from the health and safety initiative by PROjEN’s Mark Warrington and Steve Campbell following a conversation with Mark and friend Gary Billington who works at INEOS Chlor. In an effort to help raise funds for Kidscan, Gary, along with Tony Wilkinson and a number of friends, took part in the 100 mile fund raising bike ride “The Lancashire Loop Cycle Challenge” on Sunday 27th September. This has currently raised a total of £1,860 which is very close to the original target of £2,000
On all major projects PROjEN encourages a health and safety initiative at their various sites to promote the importance of excellent heath and safety practice. These initiatives are usually linked to a series of fund raising activities with partner contractors. This scheme was introduced by PROjEN to promote the safety culture for all PROjEN personnel and appointed sub contractors working on behalf of Greenergy on a major project in Plymouth. Fully endorsed by Greenergy’s Stephen McCaffrey, the health and safety scheme is a very important communication tool in educating all personnel on the issues surrounding safety in the work place.
