Firewalk Fundraiser Success

We would like to thank four very brave PM PROjEN Personnel who recently took part in a Firewalk Fundraiser for Halton Haven Hospice.

Kim Johnson, Sharon Bebbington, Mike Rockett and Warren Giddins all gave up their time on a chilly November night to overcome the mental and physical barriers involved with taking on the challenging Firewalk. The team walked barefoot over coals hot enough to potentially give them third degree burns!

We are pleased to report that all four returned to work unscathed and PM PROjEN are incredibly proud of their achievements.

Kim said “ The experience was fun and empowering, and the fact that we were raising money for charity made it even better. I would do it again in an instant, although next time I think I’ll bring something to wash my feet with afterwards!”

Thank you once again to the Firewalking team and to all those who sponsored them, the current total raised is a fantastic £1,350 and all money raised will directly benefit Halton Haven Hospice, their patients and their families.

PM PROjEN hosts Halloween Charity Fundraiser

PM PROjEN recently raised funds for the Halton Haven Hospice by partaking in a number of Halloween themed games and raffles, not to mention scoffing one or two delicious cakes lovingly made by PM PROjEN Personnel.

Highlights included the main raffle to win a gorgeous Halloween Pumpkin cake and an Autumnal cupcake bouquet ( both of which were made and generously donated by Jayne Michlovsky).

The Grand total raised on the day was £202.00, all of which goes to our closely affiliated charity Halton Haven Hospice. PM PROjEN would like to thank everybody for all their efforts in what was a spookily enjoyable day.

PM PROjEN supports Mental Health Awareness

PM PROjEN, part of PM Group, took time out at their Preston Brook offices to promote the campaign titled ‘Construction stand-down targets mental health’. The message ‘Stop.Make a Change’ expands to cover the whole of the UK Construction Industry and will run for two weeks, from the 16th to the 28th April 2018. After a quick photo to mark the occasion and in support of the campaign, a number of PM PROjEN employees took part in a short walk during their lunchtime break, taking in some of the more pleasant parts of the Cheshire countryside. Lyndon Workman, HSE Manager for PM PROjEN said, “The campaign brings home a strong and important message for us all, as estimates suggest that 1 in 4 of us will experience some kind of mental health issue each year. Only by talking and breaking down the stigma associated with mental illness will we help others, especially in the Construction Industry where we can influence others to make a positive change by getting professional help and support. The simple message being, ‘It’s good to talk and listen”.

PM PROjEN awarded RoSPA Order of Distinction 2018

PM PROjEN awarded RoSPA Order of Distinction (17 consecutive Golds) Award for health and safety practices.

PM PROjEN are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a prestigious award in recognition of our practices and achievements in helping our staff, clients and contractors get home safely at the end of the working day.

PM PROjEN has achieved a third Order of Distinction (17 consecutive Golds) in the internationally-renowned RoSPA Health and Safety Awards, the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK.

PM PROjEN will be presented with the award during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel on Wednesday, July 4th, 2018.

The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Lyndon Workman, PM PROjEN’s Health, Safety & Environmental Manager said: “We are delighted to have been awarded our third Order of Distinction following 17 consecutive RoSPA Gold Awards. These have been awarded in recognition of our longstanding focus on all elements of Health and Safety. It is particularly gratifying to receive this recognition given the ongoing challenges in the industry sectors that we serve, particularly around instilling a Health and Safety culture at all levels of an organisation. Third party recognition of our performance is a great boost to all personnel in the business and serves to further encourage our ongoing drive to make a tangible impact on the delivery of safer projects and facilities”.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most highly-respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, and allow organisations to prove excellence in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to the well-being of not only employees but all those who interact with it.”

The majority of awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold medals, president’s awards, orders of distinction and the Patron’s Award are presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years.

The Headline sponsor of the RoSPA Awards 2018 is NEBOSH – the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health – for the 13th consecutive year.

PM PROjEN sponsors Chemicals Northwest Award

Chemicals Northwest is the industry-led support organisation for the North West Chemical sector which PM PROjEN have been proud members of for a number of years now. Given our close ties with this worthy organisation, we are delighted to announce that we are sponsoring the Chemicals Northwest ‘Engineering Firm of the Year Award 2018’. The award ceremony is being held on Thursday 22nd March at the Lancashire County Cricket ground in Manchester. This is a black tie affair and is a perfect opportunity for a range of personnel from PM PROjEN to ‘dust off’ their Dinner Jackets for what is always a brilliant event.

As a previous winner of this award in 2015, (as well as the Health & Safety Award in 2016), we are very excited that we have been able to give something back to Chemicals Northwest through our sponsorship of this award. Shane Pugh, PM PROjEN’s Director of Business Development joined Chemicals Northwest’s John Roche and Steve Elliott on the judging panel for this award. The judges were very impressed with the quality of the award submissions, but all agreed that there was a clear winner. Shane Pugh, who will be presenting the Award at the event, commented “I recall how exciting it was when they read our name out when we won our awards in 2015 and 2016. A wider recognition of a business’s achievements is really important, particularly for smaller businesses and I’m really looking forward to presenting this award to a worthy winner”.

PM PROjEN has a table reserved at the event for the evening and if you are attending, please do come over to our table and introduce yourself.
