A big thank you to all those at PM PROjEN who kindly paid a ‘fine’ for donning an ‘interesting’ range of Christmas attire last Friday. The money raised will be donated to our nominated charity, Halton Haven Hospice who are dedicated to the provision of end of life care to people in our local community.
‘Movember’ is an annual campaign which aims to raise awareness around a number of issues concerning men’s health. PM PROjEN were delighted when some of our Personnel decided to get involved by growing a moustache to help raise awareness of men’s health.
Shane Pugh and Jamie Lloyd both took part in growing moustaches over the month of November in order to get more men talking about their health issues and quash the stigma that still stops a lot of men from opening up, (often resulting in men ignoring symptoms when they are feeling unwell or trying to cope on their own).
Here are just some of the key areas the campaign focused on this year:
• Prostate and testicular cancer – The campaign raised funds for services that contribute to researching and curing cancer, as well as improving the lives of those living with it.
• Physical inactivity – Physical inactivity is taking a major toll on our health. The campaign encourages men to exercise more and promotes projects that encourage men to get physically active.
• Poor mental health – The campaign aims to reduce the stigma associated with men’s mental health problems so men feel confident in talking about their experiences and seeking help when necessary.
Statistics show that Men have a 14% higher risk of developing cancer than women and a 37% higher risk of dying from it. Prostate and testicular cancer are the two most common cancers in men. Suicide is the leading cause of death for men aged 20-49 in England and Wales and the numbers are growing amongst older men. Shockingly, men account for 78% of all suicides. The life expectancy for men in the UK is nearly four years less than women.
By raising awareness about common men’s health issues and raising money for leading charities, we can all help to break down stigmas and encourage men to take their health seriously.
PM PROjEN would like to say a massive thanks to Shane and Jamie who worked to raise awareness of these key issues and received £400 of donations for a worthy cause. We would also like to thank all others who took part in raising awareness of these issues.
‘Movember’ is a great opportunity in helping make sure that the men in our lives stay in our lives for a very long time.

PM PROjEN were delighted to have been asked to sponsor Faye Warrington who over the summer took part in an expedition to Ecuador.
Faye, along with other volunteers worked with CAMPS International to help change lives through taking on vital project work such as Improvements projects which help in restoring facilities within local communities.
Whilst in Ecuador, Faye visited a number of Camps including; Camp Chili Urku, Camp Chili Urku, Camp Don Biki, Camp Kuri Kucho and Camp Costa.
During Faye’s time at each of the Camps, she worked on numerous important projects, just some of which are listed below;
• The development of a cultural centre
• The construction of an organic agricultural farm
• The creation of a playground for local children
• The construction of cuy (guinea pig) houses
• The construction of a communal oven
• The harvesting of crops
• The construction of a vital new access road.
Since 2011, CAMPS International have been working on supporting rural communities within Ecuador, helping people within these communities to implement real solutions to the everyday challengers they are facing.
When Faye returned from Ecuador, she got in touch with PM PROjEN and commented;
‘Thank you for your support to help fund my volunteering expedition to Ecuador with Camps International.
The reason I chose to undertake this trip was to further my awareness of the world around me, and to have a positive impact on those less fortunate in Ecuador.
During my time there, I worked with other volunteers to build educational facilities for the children deprived of education in Ecuador.
On top of this, Camps International enabled me to be a part of a restoration project working to re-forest the deforested Amazon rainforest.
This is something that is vitally important to the planet.’
PM PROjEN were thrilled to be able to support Faye with her expedition and are incredibly proud of all Faye’s fantastic achievements whilst in Ecuador.
Well Done Faye!
Tuesday 8th October marked the official opening of PM PROjEN’s new HQ at 1100 Daresbury Park. A number of PM Group Directors & Senior Managers made the journey from Ireland to visit the new office and spend some time with PM PROjEN personnel.
PM Group’s CEO Dave Murphy gave a speech to mark the occasion during which he thanked all who were involved with the office move and updated PM PROjEN personnel on PM Group’s 2025 Strategic plan.
Thank you to all involved with the relocation activities and for all of the positive feedback in relation to our new working environment. We look forward to welcoming clients and colleagues to the new office and introducing them to the fantastic facilities that it offers.
We are delighted to announce, that after a highly successful 10 year period at Preston Brook, PM PROjEN HQ is relocating to new premises in late September 2019.
The new office is located just 1.5 miles away from PM PROjEN’s current headquarters. The continued growth and expansion of PM PROjEN’s service offering has meant that the business has outgrown their existing premises. The move will provide a much enhanced working environment for all of its personnel as well as the extra capacity required for future growth.
Established over 41 years ago in 1978, this will be the second relocation in 24 years. The new site provides over 13,500 ft2 and will be occupied by PM PROjEN’s 130 office and site based personnel.
The new site at Daresbury Park is conveniently located just off junction 11 on the M56 and provides much needed space to facilitate PM PROjEN’s future growth expectations over the next few years. New facilities include; increased parking, improved meeting spaces, enhanced IT Infrastructure, an open plan working environment and the introduction of break-out areas.
PM PROjEN’s Managing Director, Martin Seabrook commented;
“PM PROjEN are extremely pleased to announce this move. We knew that the time would come to relocate for a second time as our numbers have increased so rapidly in order to service our clients’ requirements. The new office layout has been specially designed to provide a much enhanced environment for our personnel as well as visiting suppliers, partners and clients”.
PM PROjEN’s intention is to move and be operational at the new premises on Monday 30th September 2019.
Our New Address is:
PM PROjEN, 1100 Daresbury Park, Warrington, Cheshire, WA4 4HS.
PM PROjEN were approached by Weston Point Rangers Junior Football Club at the start of the 2018 /2019 Football season, with a request to sponsor their under 12’s football team.
This Community Football Club has over 100 players competing in the Warrington and St Helens leagues. The club provides children aged between 6 – 17 years with the opportunity to enjoy football thanks to the dedication of the clubs volunteer coaches and committee members. Whilst the club is mainly supported by parent funding and other fundraising activities, equipment and football kits represent a significant expense. Given this, PM PROjEN elected to support the club by purchasing football kits for the under 12’s football team.
With the current season coming to a close, head coach Scott Jenkins recently provided PM PROjEN with an update on Weston Point Rangers JFC’s performance;
“I am just emailing to say another massive thank you from both myself, and the team, for helping us out with the sponsorship and our new kits for last season. The team loved playing in them! We had a brilliant start to the season, and were unbeaten in our first 11 games. We also finished 5th in the League cup, and we got to the semi-final of the Alt Holt cup, getting beaten 2-1 by a last minute goal by a team who play three divisions above us. We also entered the Woolston Tournament, and got through to the semi-finals.
We will continue to wear the kits as our home kit for the next coming season, and once the current team have grown out of them, we will be passing them down to the younger teams in our club.
Thank you again, it was really nice for the lads to have a brand new kit last year and for it to be of such good quality.”
Rebecca Shillito, (PM PROjEN’s Business Development Manager) commented – “PM PROjEN will continue to support local community projects. Often a relatively small contribution can make an important and tangible difference to those involved. In this case, we were able to make sure that the team looked the part. The team’s performance was of course all down to the dedication and hard work of the players, parents and volunteers. We are pleased to have been able to help and are proud of the teams 2018/2019 performance”.
PM PROjEN are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a prestigious award in recognition of our practices and achievements in helping our staff, clients and contractors get home safely at the end of the working day.
PM PROjEN has now achieved its fourth Order of Distinction (18 consecutive Golds) in the internationally-renowned RoSPA Health and Safety Awards, the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK.
PM PROjEN will be presented with the award during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on Thursday 6th June 2019.
The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Lyndon Workman, PM PROjEN’s Health, Safety & Environmental Manager said;
“We are delighted to have been awarded our fourth Order of Distinction following 18 consecutive RoSPA Gold Awards. As with previous years, these awards are in recognition of our excellent performance in relation to Health and Safety. It is particularly gratifying to receive this recognition given the ongoing challenges we face in our industry, particularly around instilling a positive Health and Safety culture at all levels of organisations. We work hard with our clients and our supply chain to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of those that we manage in construction.
In 2018, we promoted a number of Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives, particularly regarding Mental Health awareness, where PM PROjEN have become better equipped to understand and support the business in spotting the signs associated with mental health issues.
Third party recognition of our performance is a great boost to all personnel in the business and serves to further encourage our ongoing drive to make a tangible impact on the delivery of safer projects whilst working with our partners to promote health and wellbeing”.
The majority of RoSPA’s awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold medals, president’s awards, orders of distinction and the Patron’s Award are presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years.
The Headline sponsor of the RoSPA Awards 2019 is NEBOSH – the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health – for the 14th consecutive year.

The PM PROjEN Edinburgh team recently held a charity Pub Quiz in support of their chosen charity, “Sporting Start”. There were 5 teams competing with a mix of staff, wider friends and colleagues, including a team from SGN (one of PM PROjEN’s key clients). Colin “Taskmaster” Rodger organised the event and set 5 rounds of questions, with team “Steve’s + 1” the eventual winners. “All the Beer, No Idea” lived up to their name and took home the booby prize.
The event raised £151 on the night for the charity, which combined with our other recent fundraising efforts means that the Edinburgh office has now raised a total of £204.50 for the Sporting Start charity.
We would like to thank Colin for organising such a great event.
The HSE will be running a two month campaign to target Agricultural Sites following continued poor performances associated with the Industry. In 2017/18, thirty three people lost their lives, which is around 18 times higher than the all industry fatal injury rate.
PM PROjEN have helped a number of clients improve their SHE performance, particularly when assisting them with new projects by applying the norms used in the Construction Industry. PM PROjEN are also able to provide support with Risk Assessments, Training and help nurture the Health & Safety culture by completing workplace inspections and behavioural based safety training.
Lyndon Workman, HSE Manager for PM PROjEN commented, ‘Whilst the Agricultural Industry has made improvements, it still has some way to go to achieve the standards we see in the Construction sector. This is a journey that requires commitment from the top with better training and a step change in people’s behaviour, recognising the potential for harm in the workplace and the often simple controls that can be adopted to eliminate or reduce risk so far as is reasonably practicable’.
