PROjEN are RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Award Winners 2009

PROjEN, the award winning Project Management Company based at Northwich, Cheshire, has just won another of the prestigious RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Awards for 2009.

The Gold Medal Award will be presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, National Exhibition Centre on Tuesday 12th May 2009 alongside the Safety & Health Expo 2009, Europe’s leading annual health and safety at work exhibition and is the eighth consecutive time that PROjEN has won a RoSPA award.

The RoSPA awards are not just about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work; they help to ensure that organisations have good health and safety management systems in place.

Lyndon Workman, PROjEN Health and Safety Advisor believes that in the current economic climate, awards such as this are more important than ever because they demonstrate that employers care about their employees and will not allow their standards of heath and safety practice to slip – even if times are tough.

Entering the awards scheme reinforces the message that good health and safety is good business and clearly demonstrates an organisation’s dedication to the achievement of high levels of performance in this crucial area.

David Rawlins, RoSPA Awards Manager, said “PROjEN has shown a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its employees and others. Entering the RoSPA Awards reinforces the message that good health and safety is good for business, and clearly demonstrates an organisations dedication to improving performance in this crucial area. ”

The RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2009 are sponsored by NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), the leading health and safety professional examining body. The awards mark achievement which is graded at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels.

Three days of award ceremonies will be held at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole Hotel form the 12th to the 14th of May. Gala dinners will be hosted by Lord Jordan of Bournville, RoSPA President, and Lord Brougham and Vaux, RoSPA Vice-President, for the representatives of award-winning organisations, with entertainment provided by comedian and impressionist Jon Culshaw.

Martin Seabrook, Managing Director said “I was astounded when we won our seventh consecutive award last year, but to win for an eighth time in a row is absolutely fantastic. We have won a number of awards over the years, but the RoSPA awards are definitely one of the most important to us as they recognise the work we do over and above our day to day activities. Its one thing to win a business award based on your growth or profitability, but it’s another to win an award that recognises things you do that effects the health of others. We are constantly striving for improvements in everything we do and I would like to think that we will be in a strong position to be recognised again next year”
