PROjEN focuses on Investment in People
Specialist Engineering Project Management company PROjEN, based in Preston Brook, Cheshire has recently recruited another apprentice – James Cull. James will be joining PROjEN as a Microsoft IT Apprentice initially employed on a 12 month distance learning apprenticeship through Remit Academy.
James went to Weaverham High School and Mid Cheshire College gaining a B Tec Diploma in IT. The majority of James’s training will be completed via on-line distance learning, through which the apprentices will be taught the vital elements of the qualification which can then be taken into the work place and used in a practical way. A Remit assessor will then visit the apprentice at PROjEN to ensure they are competent in the work they are doing and are applying the knowledge gained from the IT Academy. The balance between work and the IT Academy will ensure the apprentices have the knowledge to carry out their work.
James applied directly to PROjEN for the position and was one of five candidates interviewed for the role. PROjEN is also looking into taking on another EC&I Apprentice as well as possible apprentice’s for other roles.
Apprenticeships offer an alternative and rewarding route to further and higher education, combining work-based training with theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Work-based training is designed to maximise the learners’ potential for career development and future employment.
