PROjEN launch energy management service

PROjEN, the award winning Project Management Company based at Northwich, Cheshire, has officially launched a range of energy management services to industrial clients in response to customer demand.

PROjEN’s Energy Management Services are designed to safeguard precious resources and help companies to retain their hard earned profits. The majority of organisations don’t have the personnel, experience, knowledge or time to invest in solving energy problems. As a result businesses across the UK are wasting millions of pounds each year through inaccurate billing, energy wastage or simply through lack of knowledge regarding current legislation or industry best practice as it relates to energy issues.

PROjEN initially launched the energy management services to existing clients in the pharmaceutical, food and industrial manufacturing sectors, but after a successful test period, these services are now being launched to new clients in these industrial fields and also to large multi centre organisations such as retailers, banks and the leisure industry.

Over the last twelve months, PROjEN has been working hard to develop a suite of complementary services that together form a word class solution to energy management issues. After careful development, the products which have been added to the Company’s existing Energy Project Implementation service include:-part time or interim energy management, carbon trust surveys and funding, purchasing in risk markets, bill validation & recovery services, SMART metering, monitoring & targeting, energy management training, environmental legislation support services (IPPC and climate change levy), feasibility studies, project management of energy reduction programmes, process engineering support, engineering design services, carbon trading advice.

PROjEN’s approach to energy management is refreshingly new. Many energy management consultants obtain commissions from suppliers which can give rise to conflict with the best interest of the client. PROjEN are not interested in short term financial gains, but look towards building long term business relationships with companies across a number of business improvement disciplines. This new approach has been possible due to the long term relationships that PROjEN has developed with clients in other engineering management disciplines.

The new energy management services division is to be managed by Phil McVan who has over 25 year’s specialist experience of working with some of the largest companies in the United Kingdom providing utility cost, telecommunications and energy saving solutions. Phil joined PROjEN in June and has already been responsible for delivering a number of energy saving programmes to PROjEN’s existing manufacturing, pharmaceutical and food manufacturing client base.

It might seem at first hand a little removed from our core business of managed engineering services, but in fact, it appears that we have hit upon a key need. Until that time they can be nothing more than ‘paper talk’ and we have found many are tired of solutions which start with “turning the lights off”. What people want to see are real savings.
