PROjEN raise over £2,000 to assist with the construction of a new Bedroom Block at Francis House Children’s Hospice

PROjEN are based in Preston Brook, near Runcorn and understand the importance of assisting charitable organisation in and around our local area. PROjEN has always felt that more of an impact could be made when we partner with a local charitable organisation and directed all of our charitable contributions towards that organisation.

Last year we partnered with Francis Hose Children’s Hospice. In January of 1990 Sister Aloysius set up the ‘Rainbow Family Trust’ to provide help and support to the many families around the Northwest who had children with life limiting conditions and on the 25th of November 1991 the late Princess Diana opened a fully operational Francis House and ever since, the Francis House family has continued to grow.

The Francis House Lodge was opened in October 2010 and has focused on providing care for teenagers and young adults as their conditions and needs change. The Lodge was always a temporary solution and is now being replaced by the new seven bed unit adjacent to Francis House.

PROjEN began worked closely with Francis House Children’s Hospice at the end of 2012 and have collected donations as well as holding a number of charitable events throughout 2013 to raise money for Francis House who are currently constructing a new seven bedroom Hospice for teenagers and young adults adjacent to the existing site. These events include:

  • May last year Lyndon Workman cycled from Manchester to Liverpool raising money for Both Francis House Children’s Hospice and the NSPCC.
  • PROjEN employees were given the opportunity to ‘Dress down for Charity’ at the end of last year raising a couple of hundred pounds for Francis House and were also able to purchase Christmas Cards produced by PROjEN again raising money for Francis House.
  • PROjEN are keen to reduce our environmental impact in any way possible, so our I.T department have been selling off any redundant computers and screens at a discounted rate to PROjEN employees, with all proceeds donated to Francis House.

PROjEN managed to raise £2032.81 throughout 2013, with the funds going towards the completion of Francis House’s new block, which will provide a parent free space, where teenagers and young adults can experience some rare independence, while relaxing in the pleasant grounds or enjoy a range of suitable activities provided by Francis House.
