PROjEN sponsored team wins the league

PROjEN have sponsored Barnton youth football since 2008/9 season when the
team were starting out and 7 years on and PROjEN renewed the sponsorship last
year by way of a contribution to the home and away kit for the then
under 14’s.

PROjEN believe that they have a responsibility to the local community that
they work in and have sponsored Barnton Wanderers under 15s, a local football
team, based near Northwich in Cheshire. PROjEN’S Head of Procurement Mark
Warrington, who is the Under 15’s FA Qualified assistant coach, said.. “Ian
Thornhill (Mgr.) and I thank PROjEN for the ongoing support as the
contribution from PROjEN for kit etc means that each week we can compete and
look the part.

This year has been another great year for the boys and with a lot of hard work
and dedication in all weathers we have come out on top as Division 2 champions
and will move on to under16’s in the First division next season. The Facts: 18
wins from 24, 56 points, a goals plus difference of over 50 and only 1 loss
and 1 draw against our top 5 rivals, so 20 points from 24 against the better
teams, and 1 defeat in the last 8 games.

With the heightened public awareness about the dangers of childhood obesity;
in combination with the social benefit of playing a team sport, it has become
increasingly important to engage children in sport at a young age. Barnton
Football Club provides opportunities for children and adults in the
surrounding area to participate in a football team and to enjoy their
involvement regardless of ability. Barnton FC view themselves as a family,
winning and losing as a Club, not just a team, however they rely on volunteers
to coach and manage the team as well as participate in fund raising efforts.
Barnton Football Club place a high value of fair play and respect and a few
years ago, were awarded the FA Charter Standard ‘Community Club’ Award, the
highest status that they could achieve under the FA Charter Standard Scheme.
