PROjEN Support Barton FC’s Under 14’s fight for top flight football.

PROjEN believe that we have a responsibility to the local community that we work in and have therefore sponsored the Barnton under 14s, a local football team, based near Northwich in Cheshire.

PROjEN have sponsored Barnton youth football since 2008/9 season when the team were starting out; five years on and PROjEN renewed the sponsorship by way of a contribution to the home and away kit for the now under 14’s.

PROjEN’s Head of Procurement Mark Warrington, who is the Under 14’s FA Qualified coach, said; “Two years ago the, then under 12’s gained promotion as runners up in the mid Cheshire youth league and now after a restructuring of the divisions they are currently fighting for another promotion to the top flight,” he added that “At the Christmas break we are nicely poised in 4th position of division 2 and with the contribution from PROjEN means that each week we can compete and look the part.”

With the heightened public awareness about the dangers of childhood obesity; in combination with the social benefit of playing a team sport, it has become increasingly important to engage children in sport at a young age. Barnton Football Club provides opportunities for children and adults in the surrounding area to participate in a football team and to enjoy their involvement regardless of ability. Barnton FC view themselves as a family, winning and losing as a Club, not just a team. However they rely on volunteers to coach and manage the team as well as participate in fund raising efforts.

Barnton Football Club place a high value of fair play and respect and in December 2010, were awarded the FA Charter Standard ‘Community Club’ Award, the highest status that they could achieve under the FA Charter Standard Scheme.

Barnton play their home matches on Sundays at the Barnton Primary School playing field.
